I have been drawing and painting since I was a child. I have always loved it. I believe God has blessed me with this ability, and I try to give glory to Him through my work.

I pick my subject matter based on what captures my attention at that time. I have always loved animals, and I spend a great deal of time observing and photographing them. I continue to be amazed at God's wonderful creation, and the beauty and diversity of it. That is why nature is so often the subject of my work; the flowers, plants, and animals that I see around me. I also do a lot of still life subjects. All artists are intrigued by light, and how it illuminates and gives form to our subjects. I like objects that reflect that light, and have intricate shadow patterns. I have done a series of such things as sunglasses, glass door knobs, and foil pinwheels because I was challenged by the patterns of light, shadow, and reflections.

I want my work to be enjoyed by my viewers. I want them to perhaps see something in a new way, and thus appreciate it more. I believe this is a marvelous world that we live in, and if I can capture even a small part of it for others to appreciate, I have accomplished part of my purpose.
